Isabeau was bred by Connie Michelletti. I went with my trainer at the time to buy a broodmare thinking I'd find a four or five year old, ready for training. However when I saw Isabeau, her incredible gaits just knocked me over. Out of an excellant broodmare Primabona and Connie's stallion Maestoso Canada - Isabeau had an evaluation of 87.5% - astounding for a yearling!

Well, I had to have her. Nothing else looked as good after I saw her.

Isabeau started out quite a nervous Nelly. (It took a good two hours just to get her in the trailer) I was afraid she’d stay high strung. She loved to gallop. I put her in with Trieste who was four months old at that time. They were enormously fond of each other. They played, chased each other constantly and jumped the fences together numerous times. But over the next three years Isabeau gradually calmed down and matured. She still has that flash but she also has the confidence and peace of a mare that is secure and content in her world. She has been very happy in our little band of three mares including Anna and Patrizia.

Her personality is friendly, affectionate and very loyal. She will not allow little Patrizia to be chased by our geldings or our dogs. She is playful and fond of all our stallions. And to our stallions she is the Briget Bardo of the horse world. They are all in love with her . She is a princess, but with a very kind and loving nature.

In the Fall 2006 Isabeau went to the Hallets for training under saddle. She has been in training for six months and will be coming home soon to be bred. She likes her work and her gaits are extremely smooth and comfortable to ride. Not having quite the stellar work ethic of Anna, she is still a little young for her age and girlish. She loves praise and works for that but if not appauded enough she can get a little bored. Still, a willing mare, with a gentle but very athletic disposition.

Isabeau is currently a riding horse, trail horse and is pregnant for a 2009 foal (by Favory VI Bellanna).
