SIEGFRIED AND IVANHOE

Siegfried
Siegfried

Siegfried and Ivanhoe are our two baby sitter geldings. They keep weanlings company and are companions for the young stallions.

Siegfried is a 29 years young running quarter horse. He is still ridable and quite athletic. Wind Mountain has owned him for 13 years and we hope he’ll live a long time more. He keeps little Corsica company and he’s a great grandpa.

Ivanhoe is a 20 year old Percheron gelding. He was a logging horse before we got him eleven years ago. He’s a mellow fellow and has put up with Trieste’s teasing and games for the last 2 years. Now that Trieste is three and becoming a real stallion he’s a bit much for Ivan so they’ve been separated. So Ivan is waiting for his next charge and enjoying a bit of peace and quiet!

CONVERSANO II CATRINA "TRISTAN"

Tristan was my very first horse. He was so mellow that I started him myself despite being a total novice. He is so smooth to ride that it’s almost impossible to fall off him! He’s an excellent trail horse, unflappable, gets along with all kinds of horses and will go through water up to his chest, over wooden bridges and will jump logs if needed. He’s a gelding and 15 years old. We had many adventures together.

He’s schooling 2nd level, learning piaffe and working in the double bridle. I wish he were a stallion because his temperament is so incredible. But in those days I did not know anything about stallions…

Tristan is being shown this year by a beautiful young lady, 13 years old, Amalia Boyles. She is an elegant rider, trained by Marusia Hallet and Baudouin Hallet. Tristan is also schooled three days a week by Mr. & Mrs. Hallet and his fitness level has soared. I don’t think he has ever been this fit in his life!!

Lipizzans can be wonderful horses for children: calm in the show ring, easy to warm up, dependable and safe. Tristan is a snow white, living picture manifesting all the best traits of a child’s mount.

Amalia and Tristan will be showing first level in May at Dressage in the State of Jefferson. Later in the season they will be also competing in pas de deux with Marusia and her Lusitano mare.
